What We Accept

Recycle Brevard accepts a multitude of materials for either REUSE or RECYCLING. To make it easier for our volunteers, please drop off items in bags or boxes (never loose) and group similar materials together in the same container. This simple step saves us valuable sorting time — and we truly appreciate your help!

We are currently able to accept the following items:

•  TerraCycle

•  Electronics and metal

•  Unwanted (but usable and in good condition) arts & crafts materials

•  Alkaline (single-use) batteries - please donate $2.50/pound of battery that you would like to recycle to go towards the purchase of recycling boxes and help us continue to offer this program to the community. We will only be able to recycle batteries accompanied by proper donation. 

If dropping off batteries at our drop-off locations, please include a print out of your donation receipt with your batteries. We also welcome battery box sponsorships. 

• VHS Tapes - if you would like Recycle Brevard to recycle your VHS tapes, please donate $1.50/tape to contribute towards the purchase of a technotrash box. We will only be able to recycle tapes accompanied by proper donation. If dropping off tapes at one of our drop-off locations, please include a print out of your donation receipt with the tapes. 

Others interested in helping this program may also contribute toward the purchase of boxes by donating any amount. Thank you.  

If you have enough tapes to fill up a box (between 50 to 100), you may look to purchase your own technotrash box directly from GreenDisk.com

•  6-pack rings (plastic drink rings)

Join our program to collect your plastic rings at home or at the office and receive free labels to ship them for recycling. 

IMPORTANT! Since we created the program to make it easier for households to recycle these rings on their own, we do NOT collect 6-pack rings for recycling.

• Popsockets and cell phone cases may be recycled directly through TerraCycle - we DO NOT collect them.

• EMPTY prescription bottles can be shipped directly to Matthew 25: Ministries or Cocoplum:

If you would like Recycle Brevard to ship your empty prescription bottles for you, a donation of $0.25/bottle will be required to assist with shipping. We will only be able to recycle bottles accompanied by proper donation. If dropping off bottles at our drop-off locations, please include a print out of your donation receipt in the bag.

We can only accept the materials included on our lists.

When unaccepted items are dropped off, our volunteers must spend valuable time removing them from the lot we pick up — time that could instead be used towards supporting our mission in other ways to help us recycle more, spread our message further, and grow our organization.

By dropping off only accepted items, you help us make the best use of our limited resources and keep our programs running smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation!
